PierDaze 2008

Gentlemen,

I have the honour acquaint your lordships of the successful conclusion of the recent campaign that was fought by the good citizens of the colony of Long Beach against the vile depredations of the infamous so-called 'brethren of the coast' who endeavoured to sack and pillage the town to the disgrace of His Majesty's honour.

The ships of His Britannick Majesty's navy, HMS Dauntless, HMS Stout and my own HMS Interceptor landed sailors and weapons whose presence was absolutely vital to steel the hearts of the hapless citizenry against their piratical foe. We were aided quite valiantly by a citizen militia and the privateer Orange Marmalade, commanded quite ably by a Captain Blackwheel, otherwise known as Greydog, hired by His Majesty's governor to bolster our numbers. The piratical rogues had apparently made an earlier landing and set up a fortified encampment along the shoreline but the privateersmen and sailors valiantly stormed La Fuerza Veterana de Belmonte - the Bel...

Cutthroats of Corona, Riverside CA - April 26-27, 2008

It wasn't a good weekend for Pirate and Ren Fairs, which is sad because it really deserved better.

Ahoy crew, Commodore Norrington reporting in from the Cutthroats of Corona event. In concert with my gallant comrades Lts.Willoughby and Ash (you may remember the two Navy chaps from PyrateCon) we made sure that the vile and dissolute creatures and scurvy rogues were expelled from the landlocked port of Corona and law and order was restored... Sorta.

Unfortunately fate and farenheit were working against the good folk of Corona that weekend - it was one of the hottest in California and everything went to pot when someone's overheated engine set the dry mountain brush alight just when the event was starting on Saturday morning. Not that many people showed up but the honest merchant traders (or so they said they were) put on a brave face even as we checked their papers for legitimacy and attempted to recruit for King George's navy.

James Norrington Tribute - I can go the distance

This goes through the stages of Norrington's life during all three films. From the first movie we know that he cares about Elizabeth and asks for her hand in marriage. She chooses Will over him, breaking his heart. In the second, we find out he tried to go after the infamous pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, and in doing that looses his crew and the life he once lived. Forced to become part of Jack's crew is Norrington's only chance at hope. He wants to re-gain his honor by giving Cutler Beckett the heart of Davy Jones. In the third (hopefully final film) Norrington tragically dies at the end after finally recieving the kiss from a girl he once loved. This is a tribute to him. In loving memory of "a fine man, what any woman would dream of marrying."Song: I Can Go The Distance Artist: Michael BoltonClips used are property of Disney, this is strictly
